Arts Up takes you on a journey of discovery of Byzantine art! The benefactors of a famous Parisian museum went on an extraordinary five-day journey to discover the Balkans, accompanied by the former director of the ancient site of Apollonia.
The trip began with a visit to the imperial city of Nerezi in North Macedonia, followed by a tour of the Lake Ohrid region and its many churches. Afterwards, the participants went to Korçe to discover the National Museum of Medieval Arts, known for its famous collection of icons, and the Orthodox cathedral. A whole day was then dedicated to the villages of Vithkuq and Voskopojë, with their typical Albanian monasteries. The trip ended with the discovery of the site of Berat and the National Museum of Iconography in Onufri, as well as a visit to the capital Tirana.
